Virtual Everesting Team Challenge Rules & Guidelines
1.Team Structure
  • Teams only (no individual entries)
  • Maximum 14 participants per team
  • Each team must designate a Team Captain responsible for coordination and submissions
2. Challenge Objectives
  • Target 1: 8,800 meters total ascent (Everesting)
  • Target 2: 5,280 meter total ascent (Ararating)
  • Teams reaching Target 1 will be ranked by time
  • Teams not reaching Target 1 can compete under Target 2
3. Activity Format
  • Activities can be completed anywhere in the world
  • Each effort must be a single, continuous activity
  • Routes may include repeats, point-to-point, or custom designs
4. Allowed Disciplines
  • Cycling, running, walking, hiking, trekking
  • Rock climbing is not allowed
5. Elevation Rules
  • Only uphill elevation gain counts
  • Downhill does not count for elevation but counts toward time
  • Participants may use vehicles for descent in repeated climbs
6. Equipment Rules
  • Standard human-powered equipment allowed (e.g. bicycles, skates, rollerblades)
  • Trekking poles are allowed
  • No motorized or battery-assisted devices ob uphill sections
  • Indoor equipment (e.g. treadmill, step machines) is allowed if properly recorded and documented
7. Time Limits
  • Maximum 6 hours per individual activity
  • Team time determined by the moment the team’s combined effort reaches 8,800 meters.
  • Clock stops when 8,800 m reached
  • If not reached, teams compete for 5,280 m within the time limit

 

8. Recording & Submission
  • All activities must be recorded and uploaded to Strava
  • Activities must show duration, elevation gain, and route
  • Team Captain verifies and submits totals
9. Fair Play
  • Honor-based participation
  • Organizers may review and disqualify non-compliant activities
