Everesting Challenge
What is Everesting
Everesting Tips
How the Everesting Challenge Works
At Robert College, Everesting means walking 100 ascents from the Arnavutköy Gate to the Bridge: no small feat, and a true test of endurance. Each ascent is approximately 700 meters, turning the full challenge into a 70-kilometer walking journey, accomplished one step at a time. No running or cycling involved, just steady pacing and determination.
If you’re looking for a meaningful challenge with a lighter load, the Mount Ağrı Challenge offers 60 ascents, still a proud achievement, with all the spirit and satisfaction of the climb.
How to Join the Challenge
You can take on the Everesting Challenge as part of a team of 8 to 14 participants. In teams, ascents can be divided however you like, equally or based on each participant’s energy and ability. All that matters is your team reaches 100 ascents for Everesting or 60 ascents for Mount Ağrı.
Mixed teams of students, alumni, parents, faculty, and staff are encouraged. And if you don’t have a team yet, we’ll gladly match you with one.
Looking for a unique team-building experience for your company or group? This challenge is a meaningful alternative to the usual off-site retreat.
Registration & Fundraising
- There’s no participation fee for Everesting.
- Instead, participants are encouraged to fundraise or find sponsors in support of the RC Scholarship Fund.
- If you can’t find a sponsor, the RC Institutional Advancement Team will help make sure your efforts are recognized.
Special Awards await the team or solo participant who raises the highest amount – because every step makes a difference.
